Engagement

How an engagement runs

Last reviewed 20 September 2026 · Seraph Security Agency (Pvt) Ltd

Every engagement runs through the same six stages, in the same order, whether it is a single protective assignment or a deployed team. This page sets out what each one involves, what governs it, and how to begin.

Before anything: the first conversation

Seraph does not advertise and keeps no public client list. Initial conversations are held in confidence, and an enquiry commits you to nothing. What that conversation establishes is the assignment: the client, the environment, and what the work actually requires.

Notice

We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to plan an assignment and brief the team. Five days or more lets us rehearse it, which is what we prefer. Assignments outside Sri Lanka, or with specialist requirements, may need longer, and an assignment is confirmed only once the right team is available to take it.

The six stages

  • Assess. Understand the client, environment and assignment.
  • Select. Identify personnel appropriate to the requirement.
  • Prepare. Confirm qualifications, eligibility, logistics and readiness.
  • Deploy. Deliver the required security team or protective service.
  • Control. Maintain operational oversight and accountability.
  • Report. Provide appropriate records, incident reporting and proof of service.

The order matters. Personnel are identified against a requirement that has already been established, and confirmed against it before anyone deploys, rather than being assigned first and scoped afterwards.

What governs a deployment

Eligibility, credential control and jurisdictional awareness govern every deployment. Personnel are matched to an assignment against confirmed qualifications and the rules that apply where the work is done.

That control is carried by SSA’s own operations platform, which connects eligibility, dispatch, visibility, audit and proof of service in one controlled environment. It is infrastructure supporting SSA’s operations, not a product.

Who does the work

Personnel are highly trained former military and specialist operational personnel across land, maritime and aviation disciplines. Capability is selected around the assignment rather than organised by service branch, so the team assembled for a maritime task and the team assembled for a protective one are drawn from the same standard and matched to different requirements.

Vetting

No one is deployed on their word alone. Before an officer is eligible, SSA verifies their identity, requires a police clearance report, checks their service record and discharge, takes up references where relevant, records each credential with its expiry date, assesses fitness, and approves a clearance level, with the reviewer’s reason recorded. Every vetting decision is kept in a permanent audit trail.

When a team is assembled, the system will not assign anyone whose clearance, skills or credentials don’t meet the assignment, or whose credentials expire before it ends.

Reporting

After every assignment you receive a summary report: the date and location, when the team came on station and stood down, how many officers were deployed and who led them, any change to the agreed plan, and any incident, noted with its time and type. Full incident reports are kept by SSA and shared as appropriate.

A submitted report cannot be altered. Any correction is added as a dated note, so the record stays intact.

What an engagement can cover

Five disciplines: Close Protection, Secure Mobility, Event & Venue Security, Advisory & Reconnaissance, and Specialist Team Deployment. Consultancy is provided alongside them, led by Protective Security Consultancy, Travel Security & Journey Management, and Operational Security & Risk Assessment.

Where

Built in Sri Lanka. Designed for regional deployment across South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa. Outside Sri Lanka, SSA works alongside a licensed local partner or the engaging organisation, in line with local law.
